Half Marathon Heroes: Two Brothers, One Great Cause

Bro R Brown and W Bro T Milligan crossed the finish line in the recent half marathon, both under three hours, and raised valuable funds for BUMBLEance along the way. Lodge 281 could not be prouder.

Thirteen miles is a serious test on its own. Add in months of training, early mornings, and a target time under three hours, and you get a real achievement. Both Brothers delivered.

The Result

Sub-three-hour half marathons take genuine dedication. That pace demands consistent training, careful pacing on the day, and the discipline to push through when it gets hard. Bro Brown and W Bro Milligan showed exactly that discipline, and they did it while raising money for a cause bigger than themselves.

Running for a Reason

This wasn’t just a personal fitness goal. Every mile raised funds for BUMBLEance, the National Children’s Ambulance Service, turning a tough physical challenge into real support for children with additional needs and their families across Ireland. That is what the Craft is about: Brethren stepping up, in their own way, for others.

Charitable giving sits at the heart of Freemasonry, and Lodge 281 has a long history of supporting causes across the Northwest. Bro Brown and W Bro Milligan carried that tradition onto the road, mile after mile, in support of a charity that makes a real difference to families facing difficult circumstances.

Well Done, Brethren

The whole Lodge sends its congratulations to Bro R Brown and W Bro T Milligan on a brilliant run and a brilliant cause. Their effort reflects well on Lodge 281 and on everything the Festive Board table stands for: brotherhood, generosity, and a bit of good honest hard work.
