Good Morning Brethren & Companions, As Chairman of the Hall Management Committee, I would like to wish you all a very Happy, Peaceful, Prosperous, and above all a Healthy New Year.
I would also like to thank you sincerely for all the support you have given over the past year for the different functions, events, and activities held at the Lodge. As always, your involvement and goodwill are very much appreciated and help make everything such a success.
I hope everyone managed to see in the New Year in an enjoyable way. For those who may be interested, I thought I would share a few details of the final and very informal event of the year—a spontaneous New Year’s get-together of Brethren and friends.
Eighteen members with their families gathered between 9.00pm and 10.00pm, armed with an impressive selection of chicken goujons, nuggets, sausage rolls, pâté, cheese, cocktail sausages, and an assortment of desserts. With a roaring fire going, warmth throughout the Lodge, and some seasonal music playing in the background, the atmosphere was relaxed and full of very good conversation.
The New Year was officially ushered in courtesy of Big Ben on the television, followed by the enthusiastic deployment of party poppers and small confetti cannons. A thoroughly enjoyable night was had by all.
I have a sneaking suspicion that something very similar may well find its way onto the calendar again on the 31st December 2026!
